first one: multiply by conjugate

OpenStudy (fernandez555):

??? specify, i dont get what you mean @ModernPraise97

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multiply the top and bottom by the conjugate -2 + 2i 4(-2 + 2i) -------- (-2 - 2i)(-2 + 2i) 4(-2 + 2i) ----------- 4 - 4i + 4i - 4i^2 4(-2 + 2i) ---------- 4 + 4 4(-2 + 2i) --------- 8 -2 + 2i ------- 2 -1 + i :D

OpenStudy (fernandez555):

@ModernPraise97 ty! appreciate you including the steps. what about the second?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

bottom of the fraction in the exponent goes on the outside of the radical, top goes on the inside... there is a rule for if we should put the x in the radical or both the 6x in there.. and I forget it... hold on..

OpenStudy (fernandez555):

@ModernPraise97 alrighty

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would say D, and then if there is parenthesis, it would be both 6x in there
