HOMEWORK QUESTION: CONIC SECTIONS I'm so stuck on these two questions out of all 20, can someone please help? Write the equation of each conic section with the given properties: A hyperbola with vertices (0,-6) and (0,6) and asymptotes y=3/4x & y=-3/4x and An ellipse with vertices (0,-5) and (0,5) and a minor axis of length 8

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

since vertices are along y-axis, hyperbola equaition will be of form : y^2/a^2 - x^2/b^2 = 1 you need to simply figure out a and b, and plugin above.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

look at the attached chart and see if u can figure out a and b
