Do you know about the 3,4,5 triangle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[ 5^2 = 3^2 + 4^2 \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no i don't

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is a right triangle since \[ 5^3 = 3^2 + 4^2 \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[ \sin(\theta) =\frac 3 5= \frac { opposite}{hypotenuse}\\ \tan(\theta)=\frac { opposite}{adjacent}=\frac 3 4 \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Did you get it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o okay so what does it =?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(sin θ)^2+(cos θ)^2=1 => (3/5)^2+(cos θ)^2=1 => 9/25+(cos θ)^2=1 => (cos θ)^2=1-9/25=16/25 => cos θ= ±√(16/25)=±4/5 => tan θ=sin θ/cos θ=(3/5)/(±4/5) => tan θ=±3/4

have u understood
