Find the x intercept, y intercept,Max/Min of functions. 1.f(x)=x(7-x) 2.f(x)=-x(7-x) 3.f(x)=(x-3)(x+5) 4.f(x)=-(x-3)(x+5) 5.f(x)=(x-3)(x-8) 6.f(x)=-(x-3)(x-8) 7.f(x)=2(x-3)(x-8) 8.f(x)=-2(x-3)(x-8)

x intercept is where the f(x) = 0, so for example 1. at x=0 and at x=7 Max and min can be found by taking derivative = 0 or by graphing.

Im confused.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x-intercept is value where the function =0 [y = 0] y-intercept is value where x = 0 For #1 f(x) = y = x(7-x) so y = 0 when x = 0 or x =7 when x =0, y = 0, so this is the y-intercept. Finding max and min more complicated. Do you understand so far?
