How do you simplify this?? quantity 2 x squared plus 16 x plus 30 all over quantity 5 x squared plus 13 x minus 6 I got it simplified but my answer isn't one of the choices ): Help!
hang on
okay.
Is it this? (2x^2 + 13x + 20) / (x^2 - 5x - 36) or this? (2x^2 + 16x + 30) / (5x^2 + 13x + 6)
The second one
the first one. (2x + 5) ( x + 4) / (x+4) (x-9) m not exactly sure the method to use... i guessed and checked, since it said simply i had an idea that it would factor and that two of them would be the same from there the (x+4) s cancel and your your left with (2x+5)/(x-9)
I haven't tried to do the first one, cause the second is my problem but I can factor it fine. the lesson taught me to factor (I guessed and checked too) and then cancel out any equal factors for the numerator and denominator but there aren't any equal factors. I think I did something wrong but idk what. after factoring I got 2(x+5)(x+3)/(5x-3)(x+2) and nothing cancels out
oh okay becuase i was looking at the other ones and it said that what i said to double check.
so just double check it? or do you know what I did wrong?
double check it, :)
alright I got it! I factored the bottom wrong like 3 times. lol the denominator supposed to be (5x+2)(x+3) so (x+3) cancels out (:
Good Job!!
