how would I vertically compress this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Compress vertically by a factor of 1/2, and move the x-intercept 3 units right. I need t vertically compress "g(x)"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To stretch/compress a function vertically, multiply/divide the entire thing by some factor. If you want to compress it by a factor of 1/2, divide the whole function by 2. If you want to move the function to the right by n units you have to replace x with (x-n) Moving it to the left means replacing x by (x+n)
