@ganeshie8 @phi @Preetha

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

The perp of the slope is the reciprocal which is -1/2

OpenStudy (phi):

I thought you learned this: flip the slope and multiply by -1

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

You flip it, and it becomes negative.

OpenStudy (pixiedust1):

But how do I flip 2? Isn't that a whole number?

random231 (random231):

flip means just do it 1/slope with a -ve sign

OpenStudy (pixiedust1):

Oh cool! thanks!

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

You flip 2 into 1/2 and multiply it by -1 which is -1/2,

OpenStudy (phi):

for the whole number 2, you can think of it as 2/1... which makes it clearer what its reciprocal is : ½ then multiply by -1

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

You can think of it as a fraction when your multiplying 1/3 * 2 .. 2 becomes 2/1

OpenStudy (pixiedust1):

Thank you all! I totally understand the concept now. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
