Multiply and simplify –4mp2 • (–2p) • (–2m2p)
It's actually –4mp^2 • (–2p) • (–2m^2p)
@Compassionate @beccaboo333
drop the brackets and put all the things in order, like this –4*-2*-2*m*m^2*p*p*p^2 try simplifying now
just do it like that?
Try it and show your result
–8m^3p^4
Very good! But you made a mistake with -4*-2*-2
-4*-2*-2m^3p^4 finish from there
–16m^3p^4 ?
Yep! Good job.
yay :) thanks :) Can you check this one for me? 3xy^4z^2 • 5x^2yx Is it 8x^4y^5z^2 ?
very good again! but remember, the numbers are multiplying, not adding. 5*3 not 5+3... 5*3x^4y^5z^2
oh so it's 15x^4y^5z^2
Yep!
Cool So for this: Express the area of this triangle as a monomial. The height is 7x , the base is 4x. Is the answer 28x^2 ?
heres the image if you need it: http://static.k12.com/calms_media/media/330000_330500/330322/1/e400e4cb5eb1c58c16380e42acfbfd536563065f/MS_ALG_S2_03_03_test_Q4and5_question.gif
Almost correct! Remember area of a triangle is half base times height. You only did base times height.
ie your area is double the correct area.
ooohhh Yeah I knew that so it's 14x^2
Very good.
If x = 4 cm, find the area of this triangle. http://static.k12.com/calms_media/media/1346000_1346500/1346478/1/760f5fd77ed4664eebe31f309c39bbd3bfa9bb5b/HS_A1G2_S2_155217.jpg
I honestly don't get this one.
Do it the same way as the last for now.
240 cm2 ?
Do it same as the last, show your work
Worry about the x later :)
oh there was a weird glitch and I lost everything for a minute but I figured it out, I got the answer right I think it was 16 or something.
It'd be 1/2*7x*8x = 28x^2 x is 4, so plug that in... 28*4^2 = 448
aw wow I got it wrong then whoops. oh well I still passed
Good :)
thanks anyways :)
