The dimensions of a smaller rectangle are 3 ft by 9 ft. The dimensions of a larger rectangle are 5 ft by 15 ft. Find the ratio of the area of the smaller rectangle to the area of the larger rectangle.

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

The main process is for you to find the area of both the smaller and the larger rectangle. Then the area of the larger and the smaller rectangle will be (larger to smaller)

Do you understand or need help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i need help.. can you give the equation or something that i can solve. please

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Sure. (15*5) to (3*9) larger. smaller.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the answer is 2025? that's what i get. but not sure with it.

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

First do 15*5=75 (larger) Then do 3*9=27 (smaller) larger to smaller (75 to 27) I prefer things simplified. So simplify both 75 and 27 by dividing by 3, which will be 25:9 Answer is 25:9.

oh ok .. that help thank you so much. :)
