DE is an altitude to the side AB in parallelogram ABCD. if DE=AE, find m
got picture?
yahh what ikram002p put
r u getting it ?
I am not understanding it at all
humm ohk ill show it to u again ok ?
this is the sketch
hmm @RachSuarez do you see -> http://www.coolmath.com/reference/images/triangle16.gif ok.. so you have 2 sides which are equal and one 3rd side that's longer than both notice the ratios to one another
ohhh.. .ohh wait.. you want angle A... hmmm ok... so scratch that =)
so u know that DE is altitude , that means it make a right angle with AB right ?
r u getting this ? @RachSuarez
sides are equal. angles are also equal sum of angles=90 each angle=45
and u have DE=AE , that makes triangle EDA هsosceles
since its isosceles , that makes angle A=D (in the sketch)
2 legs coming out of whatever angle point, so longs the legs are equal, they will form equal angles on the other end
as you can see from the 45-45-90 rule picture, both legs of "a" are equal to each other, "a" and "a", the longer side is, well, longer :)
thanks for all the help guys! sorry I didn't answer I had to eat dinner and then help m parents!
