is a mirrors surface transparent translucent or opaque how do you know

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

If it's translucent you will be able to see partially through it. Welcome to OpenStudy.

But its surface is made of glass?

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

True, so if the question wants to know what glass is, it should ask for glass and nor mirror. A mirror reflects light fully, which means it is opaque. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opacity_(optics)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It should ask for entire mirror and not the surface of a mirror. Or perhaps "mirrored surface"

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

Agreed. This question is a bit confusing. But I think we generally take 'mirror' as the whole thing.
