Any solution to y < -3 will be a point of the form (x,y) where y is less than -3. The x coordinate can be ANY number you want. Just make sure the y coordinate is smaller than -3.

So for instance, (8,-7) is a solution because the y coordinate of -7 is smaller than -3. So that allows us to rule out choice D (we want non-solutions).
