OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

What is the similarity ratio of a cube with volume 1000 to a cube with volume 4096?

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Tagging this so I can come back to it and answer.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Alright, lets get to business. Similarity means the sides, which are the cube roots of the volumes. That is 10:16 which you reduce to 5:8.

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

Okay. I think im starting to get this. Ratios has been my weakest subsubject of Geometry.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

>Implying anyone likes ratios. We all agree with you. Ratios suck.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

This is all I did: (1000/4096)^(1/3) = 5/8 (since we're finding a cube, I cube it, makes sense?)
