Hi, can someone explain to me if there is any difference between Riemann sums and left/right-hand sums?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Left sum is when you use left height right sum is when you use right height reimann sum is when you can use any height between each rectangle. So Left/Right sum are riemann sum, but not all riemann sum are left/right sum

OpenStudy (mathmale):

In computing a Riemann sum, you may use left end points of the subintervals as the x-values at which you calculate the function value, or the right end points, or the midpoints; if done correctly, the resulting Riemann sums will be and must be identical. Be certain to ask more questions about this if you need to. I tend to favor using right end points.

thank you, both of you, so much !

You're ver welcome.
