OpenStudy (doc.brown):

How long would it take everybody to eat the moon?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

possibly a few years bc the moon is pretty big and there's a few billion people on earth. yeah i know the moon is smaller than earth but still, it's pretty big.

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

I think it would take longer than a few years since it is mostly not easily digestible material.

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

everybody knows the moon is made of cheese

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

:)

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

Like I said, not easily digestible.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@JoannaBlackwelder but what if the inner core is made of cheeses, cheesecakes, and more cheese-related foods?

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

I think I would need to calculate the volume of the moon and approximate the volume of solid food eaten by each person each day...

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

Multiplied by 7 billion would be the volume that could be eaten per day.

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

The mass of the moon is about 7.4x10^22 [kg], and there are about 7.1x10^9 [people]. If a person can eat about 2.5 [kg/day/person] The time (in years) it would take for these people to eat the moon ( mass_moon /mass_eat) / Population ( ( 7.4x10^22 [kg] / 2.5 [kg/day/person] ) / 7.1x10^9 [people] ) / 365[day/year]
