I know this is a random question. "Are working women better mothers".

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In my opinion no, I think the mother should stay home and raise the kids 24/7 as the man of the house hold should provide for the family. But that's just my opinion.

It's a difficult question because it hinges on your definition of a good mother. If a mother stays at home and doesn't have another job, of course she'll be able to spend more time doing home work and she'll be able to spend more time with the children. But should that be the default woman's position? Women who work set examples to their daughters that there is more to life than getting married and being a mom. In homes where both parents work, both parents need to help with child rearing and house work, but is it really such a big deal to wander outside traditional gender roles? Lots of families make it work and, I think you'll find that good mothers treat their children well, whether they work outside the home or not.

OpenStudy (britanyashton):

no. they arent. However, it depends on how you interpret that question. Honestly the more hands-on a mother, the better the stability and the better emotionally the child, however the mother needs to be a "good mother" also . So emotional and physical abuse, and love and attention without smothering is also a necessity. http://www.compellingtruth.org/stay-at-home-mom.html URL: http://www.compellingtruth.org/woman-work-outside-home.html http://www.gotquestions.org/women-work.html
