One life to live, one death to give. Into the nothing we bound. How we do will resound in some way profound, as all things eventually are. Tis but the giving of the way, as the new day turns forth from child's imagination. The old, stale thoughts of solid age give way, as the body does too, and the cycle closes anew with death's final notation. Running, skipping and jumping becomes rambling, tripping, and thumping. Between there is some countenance of grace and imagination as we perform those duties commensurate of the age we pass through. But still there are those who seem childish or aged after or before those times have passed. In uniqueness they exist, but ridicule persists, and most follow like sheep the masses. Little they know, their own difference does grow, and individual all become. Lone statues we are, but not very far, does such gallantry carry. For without a pair, none do bear, and show the fruits of passion. Together, or apart, new lives do start, and again the young make a family. But through times path this breaks, and new lives made, do find their own course to follow. Repeat, repeat, do we do this feat. Walking ever from womb to grave, a path we pave, in tears of fears and happiness. For such we are, the creature homo sapient, a vertebrate of considerable progression, emotion, and future.
It's awesome. :D
Wow this writing excerpt contains some very powerful themes. I felt like I had to read it more than once to truly capture all the beauty present. So let me just say this. Your writing style is phenomenal, probably better than my own weird English teacher xD So if I'm correct, there's themes of individuality, and companionship at the same time. All the qualities of a human being and our natural instincts and tendencies. Basically, the whole thing is like an account on the cycle of human life. I don't know exactly, but the feel of progression within your ideas and how they all tie in to each other (with a great sentence at the end that tied everything together). My mind is blown. This has got to be the best thing I've read in a long time :3
Yah, it is the human life cycle. Little nods to couples, individuals, marriage, divorce/sole parenting, and so on. What makes us happy or sad, how we tend to follow each other, but we are still individual, and lots of other little bits crammed in.
You need to be an assembly speaker at my school :D.
Woah…if it were me writing about all this @e.mccormick , i would probably have each topic as a paper on its own..the way you were able to tie all of the subject matter together in a relatively short is so impressive, I'm seriously dying *_* The cat bombs/guns aren't exactly helping either *sneezes*
really enjoyed it
I love how it all flows together. You did really well with this. :D
people don't speak like that anymore...
Shhhhhhhhhh... shhh shhh shhhhhhhhhhhhhh it's the thought that counts...
LOL. Hey, it is an accurate observation. I do tend to write in a more classic form at times.
Just have to fix Tis to 'Tis and then you're all good :D

LOL nin what a turd. I actually really like the way you wrote :) reminds me of the bible. Very very lovely writing, mccor :) ♥ never stop writing
It is very really well written :) Each line are incredible, the transitions are awesome and the meaning is really into something! I don't know that there is still someone who can write like this in our generation because everything's change ^_^
=) Thanks for the sweet words, Chibi.
Wowzers! If you had a book I'd buy it. This is great! Amazing, it's wonderful e.mccormick! :) I never knew you wrote!!! I do too! xD By the way if you ever do want to get anything published- pm me, I work with Candlewick Press and Create Space! :) Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful masterpiece.
One of these times I need to find the other files this is part of. I have Dark Thoughts, More Dark Thoughts, and Other Dark Thoughts on different machines. The Dark Thoughts part is a reference to the fact that they come from the deep recesses of the mind, where there literally is no light, therefore all thoughts come from darkness. Don't know how many different bits I have written over time. Stuff from teen years on.
umm... that was confusing to read, but okay! :)
Well, I have several files with this, and other things I have written. Just not all on one computer. I build my own machines, so things have ended up on old drives here and there.
Oh! So is like the title called Dark Thoughts?
Yep.
Okay hahahahaha! I was a bit confused like you were telling me that these are your dark thoughts, it makes sense now... So don't you have like a flash drive you can transfer them on to?
Not all the machines are together at the moment. I moved and never got around to putting back together two old ones I don't use any more. And I know a lot of files are on those.
so... you are like a machine engineer and a writer? that's some skill you got there.
JOATMON Jack Of All Trades Master Of None My hobbies have included things like blacksmithing too.
how OLD are you :P
well…idk he keeps his age pretty ambiguous
cause i thought blacksmiths are pretty old....
lol well...
dem stereotypical blacksmiths and overlords <_<
Just because I have tried lots of things does not mean I am super old. Most of the wide range I tried by 18. I just have a mind that wanders all over. I can pick up the basics of things exceptionally fast because I go all over the place mentally. In fact, I would have been a professional blacksmith when I was 16, but the person doing the hiring had her house burn down, so it fell through. It was at an amusement park where they had one full time and he wanted them to hire me as an apprentice.
wow…. guess i learned something new today xD
I feel the wisdom seeping through my computer and linking into my brain....
leaking*
Well, how are you going to know what you like and what you want to do if you do not try things? So I did computers, machining, wood working, blacksmithing, and many other things by the time I was 18. Knowing how to wire a network or wire electricity or do a telephone installation... it is not all that different. In learning about each I found what I wanted to do.
seems like a good system….dang lol where did you get the time to do all this? being a musician takes up a good quantity of my time. But then again, famous musicians have had Asperger's Syndrome. So I guess that's kinda my thing
I did not master them. I tried them, found what I liked and not. I also tried gymnastics, music, etc. I have learned drums, recorder, and violin. That is why I am not a musician. I know what sort of dedication it takes and what depth of love you need for the music. I appreciate music, but do not love it enough to make it my life. Same with sports. I played soccer for 4 or 5 years. I am not a sports star and have no interest in being one.
However, gymnastics was useful. I am pretty good at tower climbing, which my job requires, because I understand balance, etc. I also have no issue with the heights because gymnastics has you do some things that will get you more comfortable with both heights and trusting the equipment.
..... I'm just 18 and I have already accomplished being a professional illustrator for a publishing company- that right there is a big success and on my way to publishing my own book. (including I haven't took any art classes) I run my own business line for Jewelry. And thats it. I'm not that interested in anything else but Art and Writing :/ But you on the hand- you've accomplished a lot by the age of 18!
I tried a lot by 18. Not like it is acomplisments. I started in gymnastics at like 7. Also cracked my neck really bad when 12 or 13... so. Bad as in swelling paralyzed me for a while and if I moved my head too fast for the next 7 years I would feel a sharp pain and drop because of damage too small to be seen on an x-ray. Music was also like that. Recorder at 7, violin at 9, drums at 11 (and still violin), and by 15 my parents stopped trying to push me into music. Started with computers at 11 and by 16 I was repairing things for people. I learned as much, if not more, about computers as I did about anything else. But I enjoyed it, as opposed to fought with it. I enjoyed machining and blacksmithing too, but they are not quite as easy to do career paths with. So I took the one that had a good future to it and made it into my job.
holy cow :O I feel like I'm too young to know what i want to do, but music is truly my passion. However, its not something i want to have a professional career with, since I feel it would become an obligation rather than a hobby. Honestly, I want to go into science
Jamie, look up Vi Heart.
I really like it. You have a writing talent. Keep creating.
Thanks Vamp. =)
I second that, and that agreement is not in obligation due to being a minion. I truly appreciate your writing, raw talent at its best. =)
Hehe. I bet Jamie read it again.
i did actually *facepalm* but not because i didn't remember it mind you, because i wanted to ^O^
Yah, I know you like it. And I appreciate that. =)
awwwww your appreciation is appreciated =D
These are amazing words, for some reason they touch me and surround me... I felt I saw your words like a movie... it just made sense, ya know? "Walking ever from womb to grave, a path we pave, in tears of fears and happiness..."
Thanks Rollie. That line really sums up all of the poem. It makes all of what was above come back together in the end. It also has a nice cadence.
Agreed. :)
Amazing!!
I understood it completely. Great work. 10/10 would read again.
Great work. @e.mccormick
You are OLD///
@juliephillips Um, not really. And I was younger still when I wrote that.
Impressive ^_^ i like it its very well detailed :) this is my favorite part ^_^ its very descriptive and actually gives a sense of feeling on how a person might feel :) Repeat, repeat, do we do this feat. Walking ever from womb to grave, a path we pave, in tears of fears and happiness. For such we are, the creature homo sapient, a vertebrate of considerable progression, emotion, and future.
