I have a geometry portfolio, i really don't understand how to do it. help?
Pick a room in your house and complete the calculations that are required if a scale drawing were to be made of the room. 1. Make a list to identify each object in the room that will be scaled, such as doors, windows, walls, and furniture. Use an appropriately shaped polygon to represent each object. For example, use a rectangle to represent a bed or couch. A minimum of six objects is required. 2. Determine the scale factor you will use and include the units. 3. Complete a chart, like the one below, to organize your data. Show all calculations and include units. Be sure to specify your scale factor.
It is really simple actually...
Just pick a room. Use a measuring tape to measure atleast 6 things in your room. e.g Measure the Bed in your room, the length of your room, height of your room etc.
i no has measuring tape DX
LOL! Then this might be HARD without it. You can use a Meter ruler or something to measure stuff, this might take time xD
Or ask your Neighbor's. Borrow one from them if you can.
NOOOOOOO omggg this sucks lol but thanks for the info, you helped a lot!
And about the Scale Factor. If you are going to make a small scale sketch (blueprint) of your room. What would your Measurements would be in? Then determine: If you take measurements in Feet, on the drawing show the scale factor how many 1cm = how many feet. Like... 1 cm (on drawing) = 1 feet (in real) or 1 cm (on drawing) = 2 feet (in real) or 1 inch (on drawing) = 5 feet (in real) This actually depends on you...
ah okay i see what you mean
i would probably go with cm for the sketch but how would you convert, or like..... hmm idk i think i confused myself
If you take the Scale Factor as: 1cm = 1 ft Then no need for conversion. The same number of centimeters would be equal to the feet. Example: 1.2 cm will be equal to 1.2 ft. 5.8 cm will be equal to 5.8 ft. If you take something else as Scale Factor as: 1cm = 5 ft then, whatever value of cm you have, multiply it by 5 to get the feet.
oh! thanks!!! that should be pretty easy :)
Another thing, if you take scale factor like this: 2 cm = 5 ft then, do this: 5/2 to find how much feet is 1 cm equal to. = 2.5 Then 1 cm = 2.5 ft Now according to this, whatever value of centimeter you have. Multiply 2.5 with it to find the feet.
About the part "Complete a chart, like the one below", you need to complete the chart. I don't know what it looks like... :)
Need any more Help? :)
lol well the chart is pretty simple but thank you i appreciate your help very much ^~^ that was actually the last of the work i needed to do today :)
ill talk to you if youre on tomorrow! thx again!
