In a word game you choose a tile from a bag, replace it, and then choose another. If there are 14 vowels and 32 consonants, what is the probablity you will choose a consonant and then a vowel? A. 224/1,035 B. 112/529 C.529/112 D. 9/23
I got C. but i dont think im correct..
Total constants = 32 Total vowels = 14 Total letters = 32 + 14 = 46 Probability of a consonant on first place = 32/46 Probability of a vowel on second place = 14/46 Probability of getting a consonant and then a vowel (or vice-versa): (32/46)(14/46) = 448/2116 = 112/529
