Help!! Honor Geometry B. 9th grade The Empire State Building in New York City is 1,454 feet tall. The model of the building is 24 inches tall. What is the ratio of the model to the height of the actual Empire State building? a. 727:12 b. 727:1 c. 12:727 d. 1:727

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D. 1:727

OpenStudy (lexilove13):

How did you get that @DanielleWardrip

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh my gosh I'm in Honors Geometry. Also in 9th grade. I wish I'd already taken this so I could help you, but I haven't yet. If you figure out the answers could you help me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well 24 inches is 2 feet right?

OpenStudy (lexilove13):

Yes @DanielleWardrip

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright so i divided 1,454 feet by two because ratios should be in lowest form and dividing 1545 by two would make it so that the 2 feet would be 1 foot

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and 1545/2 is 727

OpenStudy (lexilove13):

So wouldn't it be a. 727:1? That is what I am not getting @DanielleWardrip

OpenStudy (lexilove13):

@DanielleWardrip Hello?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay it asked for the height of the model to the height of the actual building, which means that the height of the model goes first see if it had asked for the height of the actual building to the model then it would be 727:1

OpenStudy (lexilove13):

oh ok! Thank you so much for helping me! @DanielleWardrip

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whatever it asks for first goes first see what i mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah no problem :)
