What is the difference between (fg)(x) and (f o g)(x)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Xmoses1 @Isaiah.Feynman if either of you know the answer I would really apprecite the help.

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

Where are the functions?

OpenStudy (xmoses1):

I dont know this sorry chromer :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Isaiah.Feynman There are no functions, it is just asking about the general differences. Thanks anyway @Xmoses1

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

(fg)(x) is simply f(x) times g(x). And (fog)(x) is a composite function, its f(g(x))..the value of f(x) when g(x) = x.
