i got the answer itwas D. but i have one more question
What is the basic cause of ocean tides? A. Gravitational attraction between Earth, the Moon, and the Sun B. Gravitational force of volcanic activity {C. Gravitational attraction between the Moon and the entire solar system} D. Gravitational force of atmospheric pressure
is it C.?
its d I think but im not sure
It's important that y ou know the meaning of "gravity" and of "gravitational attraction." You have weight because of the earth's gravitational attraction for your body, and vice versa. If you were sent far, far into space, you'd "weight" little or nothing. Know that? The entire solar system is entirely too big for such to be the cause of tides. But if we focus on earth, sun and moon, then gravitational attraction between those bodies does make more sense. Both the sun and the moon exert such attraction on the earth. Tides result.
the correct answer is A
