OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the kinetic energy of a 1.0-kg billiard ball that moves at 5.0 m/s? A. 5.0 J B. 6.5 J C. 10.0 J D. 12.5 J

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/2 times mass times (velocity squared) \[\frac12 m v^2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you drew something or made an equation I can't see it :/

OpenStudy (doc.brown):

What is the mass of the ball?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1.0-kg ?

OpenStudy (doc.brown):

Yes, what is the velocity of the ball?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5.0 m/s

OpenStudy (doc.brown):

The equation for finding Kinetic Energy \(KE\) is half the mass \(m\) times velocity \(v\) squared.\[KE=\frac{1}{2}mv^2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can't see the equation :/

OpenStudy (doc.brown):

KE=1/2mv^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ahh okay

OpenStudy (doc.brown):

I think this is more a question on how we can fix it so that you can see LaTeX equations on your web browser.

OpenStudy (doc.brown):

Which browser are you using? Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, Safari?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Google Chrome

OpenStudy (doc.brown):

Up in the top right there is a Settings button, three little lines, click that and pick About Google Chrome.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay I did

OpenStudy (doc.brown):

Did it say you have the current version?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah it does. It has like a green check and it says "Google Chrome is up to date"

OpenStudy (doc.brown):

Try refreshing the page with Ctrl-Shift-R

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay I did

OpenStudy (doc.brown):

Can you see equations?\[like this?\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope his is what I see: \[like this?\]

OpenStudy (doc.brown):

Well, if it make you feel better, now I see it the same way. lol It must be a problem with openstudy today. Every once in a while try refreshing with Ctrl-Shift-R and it should start working when openstudy fixes it.
