HELP!!!! I need to gain weight, I am severely underweight. My doctor says I need to gain some and I can see my rib and hip bones. - I'm about 4'10" - I'm a girl - I currently weight 80.0 lbs. exactly. I need help on gaining weight!! P.S. The sad part is when i was 8 or 9 I weighed 90 pounds.

Eat properly. I am not saying you need to scarf down more. Just make sure you have a balanced diet and not just a bunch of lettuce. No matter what range of foods you choose to eat you can be sure that you take in a range of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats that is sufficient for your body's needs. Also, make sure you get all the essential amino acids.

Some foods are good for you and have a decent range of calories. Nuts, things with flax seeds, and things like that can be healthy and filling. Even if you are a vegetarian, which is one of the highest risks for dangerously low weight, you can have these things.
