A rectangle has an area of 100 sq inches The perimeter of the rectangle is 40 inches a second rectangle has the same area but a different perimeter is the second rectangle a sqaure why or why not?

The ratio of a rectangle's area to it's perimeter is the greatest for a square. A perimeter of 40 is 4*10 and the associated area is 10^2 or 100. The second rectangle is not a square.
