FIND THE PRIME FACTORIZATION OF 245 USING EXPONENTS WHEN REPEATED FACTORS APPEAR

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5*7*7?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

One approach is to start dividing by primes: 2,3,5,7,11,13,... Should not need to continue testing anything bigger than sqrt(245) = 15.6

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Yes your factorization looks correct Ruby. Each prime factor should only appear once though. What's another way we could write 7*7 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well done. They ask for exponents when repeated factors occur, so 7*7= ?.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7^2
