You may argue for or against any of the statement below.

Steve Jobs’ or Mark Zuckerberg’s success is based on other people’s ideas and technology.

Conduct background research on the topic.
Narrow your research into three main sub-topics supporting or opposing your main statement. Double-check that you are not writing a narrative and explaining events

Well where it says argumentative I'd assume to argue against either ones success, just not explain the research you do.

Figure out which one you'll write about.. gain notes on whichever one you chose

Then create a thesis statement agreeing or disagreeing to what you learned. From there on show your own thoughts, giving examples. Just do not explain EVERYTHING.
