Medal will be given + a new fan! The graph of f(x) = (0.5)x is replaced by the graph of g(x) = (0.5)x - k. If g(x) is obtained by shifting f(x) down by 3 units, the value of k is ________.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got for my answer -7...I just need to know if that's wrong or right.

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

How did you get 7 ?

OpenStudy (bibby):

citation needed. Don't trust this kid ^

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

:'O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What? What are you talking about @bibby

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And why is it -3?

OpenStudy (bibby):

Show your work at how you got -7. I have no idea what the answer is

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

f(x) + k = P(1 + r)^x + k. A positive value for k will shift the graph up k units. A negative value for k will shift the graph down k units.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh I see what I did. I took -3, and turned it into +3 then, for some reason added -10 to it. THAT is stupid. Thank you @tHe_FiZiCx99

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

eat pellet bibby =.=

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):
