Please help! Will fan and give medal! Which ordered pair is a solution of the equation y=-9x+4 (10,-58) (-4,-58) (6,-41) (-6,57)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Easy.. sub in the x values and see if you get the corresponding y value

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They basically want to know which of the points given exist on the line y=-9x + 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So to check the first point (10,-58), where x = 10 and y = -58 you try substituting in x = 10 and see if the end will be y = -58. You follow?

I'm confused?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok let's check the first one together.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The equation is y =-9x + 4. Can you give me the first x value to check in the equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When they say ordered pair, they really mean point. The question is basically asking which point (x,y) exists on the line.
