Water obtained from natural resources does not show neutral pH. What is the reason behind this?

Aside from what has been mentioned, some of the carbon dioxide dissolved in water reacts and forms carbonic acid, which ionizes into bicarbonate and hydronium ions: CO2 + H2O <-> H2CO3 <-> H^+ + HCO3^- As result, it lowers the pH.
