(x+2)(x+2) = x*2 + 2*x + 2*x + 2*2 = x^2 + 4x + 4
so y = -(x+2)^2 - 7 = - (x^2 + 4x + 4) - 7 = -x^2 - 4x - 4 - 7 = -x^2 - 4x - 11
