Can someone please tell me how to solve the equation attached below and others like it?

What does this do as x decreases without bound? f(x) = x (slope of +1?) What does this do as x decreases without bound? f(x) = -x (slope of -1?) What does this do as x decreases without bound? f(x) = x^3 What does this do as x decreases without bound? f(x) = -x^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i view this as f(x) is ur y so ur equation is as y is positive and grows to a big number so ur x values are - and decrease as a big number . when u plug in say a large number 100 or 1 million ur going to get a positive value for f(x) and positive value for x value. I think it's true.... if my logic isn't flawed

\(x \rightarrow -\infty\) This guy is headed for negative numbers!
