Can you explain a sodium potassium pump and break it down into kindergarten terms

OpenStudy (petiteme):

There's a video in this link: http://highered.mcgraw-hill.com/sites/9834092339/student_view0/chapter38/how_the_sodium_potassium_pump_works.html It will help ^_^ Welcome to Open Study!

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

the pump is like a door....u need to give energy and push d door. and when u enter the room is already full so u have to push few people out who r required outside. the people coming in the room(cell) are potassium and going out is sodium. the energy in biological terms is given by ATP

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

hope that helped and Welcome to Openstudy!!1
