How many 4-digit alphanumeric codes can be made of the first digit must be a vowel and the last digit must be odd?
>How many 4-digit alphanumeric codes can be made of >leaves out what we need to work with the problem Can you include the numbers and letters we need to use?
@poopsiedoodle that's my problem actually, "aplhanumeric codes" it includes numbers from 0-9 and letters a-z right?
@poopsiedoodle it is not specified in the book what numbers or letters to use, it just simply tells 'alphanumeric codes'
I guess, but your question looks like something that included an image file or something with the numbers and letters you were supposed to use.
Oh. Well, there are a ton of possibilities then...
@Compassionate
@poopsiedoodle it doesnt have an image or something, just a question haha :)) so do we have 36 alphanumberic codes? :)) 26 letters and 10 numbers??
Doubt it. If the last digit has to be odd, and each code is four digits, it's prolly not gonna be just 36.
I'm not exactly sure how to do this though :(
no, what i mean is that, from the question itself, it requires 36 alphanumeric codes, not the answer as 36 :)
I'm quite confused then.
@thisSucks
first digit can be only 1 or 8 last digit can be 1,3,5,7,9
so we have 2*10*10*5 options
@thisSucks i thought the first digit must be a vowel? so must it have like, 5 possible digits?
it says vowel not even
@thisSucks ohh, so what do we mean by alphanumeric code?
is it alphanumeric? sorry then yes it will be 5 and answer will be 5*36*36*5
@thisSucks yey i got it, thanks!! :)
