Need help with Permutations. Leora, a triathelete, has four pairs of running shoes loose in her gym bag. In how many ways can she pull out two unmatched shoes one after the other?

there are 8 ways of picking the first shoe this leaves 7 shoes, 1 of which is a matching shoe. there are 6 ways of picking a second unmatched shoe. --> 8*6 = 48
