multiply the number outside for example -3(a +4) would be -3*a + 4*-3 +8a < 13 that should be the first step... add like terms are u able to work the problem out from here?

well ur making -12 + a number say x = 0 so -12+12 = 0 on left side then moving that x number u used to the other side meaning 13 + 12 = 25
