i need help on two more @ybarrap , if thats okay?
ok
If the number 3 were added to the set { 2 , 3 , 3 , 3 , 4 , 5 , 5 } which central tendency would change? mode range median mean
@ybarrap
Mode is the the most common number is the list. Which is the most common? Does adding a 3 change that? Range is the highest and lowest numbers. Does adding a 3 change that? To get the median, you sort the numbers and then take the middle one. Does the middle number change? To get the mean, add all the numbers then divide by the number of items in the list. Does this change?
What does this tell you? http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=mean+%7B+2+%2C+3+%2C+3+%2C+3+%2C+4+%2C+5+%2C+5+%7D+-+mean+%7B+2+%2C+3+%2C+3+%2C+3+%2C+3%2C4+%2C+5+%2C+5+%7D
aThat the mean will be changed?
yeah, I took the mean of your original and subtracted the mean after adding in the 3 and found that it was NOT zero. That means that the mean change (no pun intended).
Did you click on my link?
yes i did it was helpful alrighty one more? The average cost per slice of pizza is 88 cents with a standard deviation of 5 cents. What is the z-score of a slice of pizza with a cost of 99 cents? 0.45 1.16 2.2 7.4
@ybarrap
$$ z=\cfrac{x-\mu}{\sigma}\\ z=\cfrac{99-88}{5}=2.2\\ $$
i got that tooo
