OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

Part a is simply asking you to find the area of the circle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

answers in the book say for a) 125.66 acres and for b) 34.34 acres

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

Find the area of the circle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

with using the 165 A=85529.86

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

Whats the unit?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

85529.86ft

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

Convert it to acres

OpenStudy (anonymous):

??

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

You see the text book has the answer in acres so convert from ft^2 to acres!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i know what u r saying but how ?

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

If 1 acre is 43560ft^2 , then 85529.86ft^2 is how many acres??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i got 1.963....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol @Isaiah.Feynman

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, for part 2, just find the area of the square. (hint: the length of a side is 2 times the radius)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do i convert ft^2 into acres - i know may seem like a dumb question but please help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am getting 1.963.... answer in book for a) 125.66

OpenStudy (anonymous):

125.66 acres

OpenStudy (mertsj):

8 sections of 165 ft pipe = 1320 ft. So the radius of the circle is actually 1320 ft

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok gah y couldnt i see that !!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh gosh thanks @Mertsj
