hartnn (hartnn):

is it given that BE is the median ?

hartnn (hartnn):

oh, its not required, as Centroid is the point of intersection of medians. so you can use the theorem that says "centroid divides each median into two segments whose lengths are in the ratio 2:1"

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

The centroid is exactly two-thirds the way along each median.

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

from http://www.mathopenref.com/trianglecentroid.html

hartnn (hartnn):

which means, for your question, GE/BG = 2/1 and GE+BG = BE = 21 you can find both BG and GE from here.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they all equal 21

hartnn (hartnn):

lol, how ? 21+21 is not 21.... GE/BG = 2 GE = 2BG so, 2BG+BG = 21 find BG from here :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

bg=7 ge=14

hartnn (hartnn):

you got it :)
