I think that it would be a good idea to implement a 'toggle notifications' button. That way if we dont want to get a bunch of notifications we can toggle them on and off. That or make it so that we can 'unfollow' a thread. I get irritated when i constantly get notifications that I don't care to read.

I don't want to never be notified... just occasionally turn it off and on when it is most convenient
