Solve the system of equations (medal, look for system in the comments).

OpenStudy (mathmale):

I am not familiar with the idiosyncratic format presented in this problem (not your fault). I assume, however, that because the problem involves matrices, you understand what matrices are and know at least some basic matrix operations.

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

ummmmmm put it in matrix format 2 1 line 5 8 4 line 20

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Given the system of linear equations presented here, you could rewrite the system in matrix form: [X]=[A^(-1)][B] where A is the system matrix, A^(-1) is the inverse of the system matrix, and B is the column matrix of constants. Before I say anything further, how much sense does this make to you?

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

nonsingular matrices have inverses... AA^-1

OpenStudy (mathmale):

The system matrix, [A], reads 2 1 8 4 and the column matrix of constants reads 5 20 as UD has already pointed out (above). Yondaime??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry I was absent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I understand somewhat.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Could you elaborate on your second comment?
