help! how can you tell when water is in gas state instead of a liquid state during a chemical reaction??

Hmmm. Do you have the equation? It should be noted in the equation as aq. for liquid.

You can also look at the energy levels, water as a gas is higher energy. Are you keeping track of temperature in this experiment?
