OpenStudy (confusionist):

What is the product number? x^2+11x+24 I'm not sure what 'product number' means. I know what it means to find the product though, haha.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

I think it wants you to factor. If so, then find two numbers that multiply to 24 (last term) and add to 11 (middle coefficient) These two numbers are 8 and 3. So that means x^2+11x+24 factors to (x+8)(x+3)

OpenStudy (confusionist):

Oh. there's answer choices :x I thought it was part of a new question. I thought it was factoring, too, but it doesnt fit any of the answer choices... a) 1 b) 11 c) 24

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Well the only thing I can think of is that 8*3 = 24 which is a product. So maybe they want 24? Not sure

OpenStudy (confusionist):

Hmm...I'll answer that and see! :) Thanks

OpenStudy (confusionist):

Oh, that was right! :o I guess thats what they wanted, weird...
