Find the horizontal asymptote of the graph of: y =3x^6 - 7x +10/8x^5 +9x +10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe its: No Vertical Asymptotes No Horizontal Aysmptotes

Can you explain?

OpenStudy (ranga):

If the degree of the numerator is greater than the degree of the denominator, the function will approach infinity as x->infinity. Therefore, there will be no horizontal asymptote. But this function has a vertical asymptote though (but it is not asked).
