GETS A MEDAL AND A FAN IF ANSWERS MY QUESTIONS!!!!!!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Solve for x: the quantity of x plus 16 all over 3 = 3x x = -7 x = -13 x = 8 x = 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh hey I remember you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you helped me a few months ago

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

multiply both sides by 3 so x + 16 = 9x then minus x from both sides -x -x 16 = 8x then divide both sides by 8 /8 /8 so x = 16 divided by 8 = (simplify)

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

I'm happy that you remember me :) thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so i have to multiply both sides by 3

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

yep :) because (x+16)over3 times 3 = just (x+16) and 3x times 3 = 9x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my answer is 2

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

correct! :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow thanks your really got much smarter then a few months ago

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well can you help me with 1 more please

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

sure :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The triangle below has a total perimeter of 450 cm. http://learn.flvs.net/webdav/assessment_images/educator_algebra1_v17/02_01/02_01_g08_q02.jpg Write an equation and solve it to find the length of the longest side of the triangle. 128x + 150 = 450; x = 2.34 cm x + 278 = 450; x = 172 cm 2x + 278 = 450; x = 86 cm 150x + 128 = 450; x = 2.15 cm

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

mmm the link doesn't work for people who aren't in flvs could you try taking a screenshot or something? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i cant find the image but heres what it says a picture of a triangle with sides 128 and 150. Third side unknown.

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

perimeter = all sides added up so if perimeter = 450 and two sides are 128 and 150 if you let x represent the missing side and 128 + 150 = 278 then x + 278 = 450

OpenStudy (anonymous):

172

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

yep :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow thanks very much if i need help can i tell you in a message

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

mmm you can tag me by putting a @ in front of my name like @RagingSoulGoku mine would be @jigglypuff314

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

see ya around :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k see ya
