OpenStudy (anonymous):

Does OpenStudy have German in its subjects? If it doesn't it should.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't think it is right that they only have Spanish

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They don't have German, but I agree that it's a bit unfair. You can always check what subjects OpenStudy has by searching the subject.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it is ridiculous that they don't have at least French or something other than Spanish. Just cause the majority of the US is Spanish speaking. I makes me so mad. Do you know of anyway to talk to the people that created OpenStudy to talk to them about adding more languages?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can't remember , but somebody else like a moderator probably will. @thomaster

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you! Because I know a lot of people that would come to OpenStudy if there where more languages.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem, you might need to just ask a couple of other people.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Vielen Dank für Ihre Hilfe! (Thank you for all your help!)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

contact@openstudy.com, you could try emailing openstudy and see what they say about it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks for the medal.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

anytime :) OH! Thank you for the medal too :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

By the way, I got a message from thomaster, and he said message Preetha. Maybe she could do something. She isn't online right now, but you can still message her.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you soooooooooooooooooooooooooo much you rock!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you don't mind me asking who is Preetha. I'm kinda new to OpenStudy.

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

I don't think there should be a German Section. If anything I feel there should be a World Language Section, that way every language can be discussed in it.

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

Join my question in the first post to help try to do this :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ya know I kinda agree with you I just am disgusted that there is only Spanish

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Nein, wir habt "Language and Culture" gruppe.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I agree with @beccaboo333, there should be a world language group.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, this is Preetha. http://openstudy.com/users/Preetha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay thanks and Yah the Language and culture group is cluttered it should be split to just language and just culture

OpenStudy (preetha):

OK, Ok, no need to be disgusted. We have Language and Culture. And we welcome all German language studiers to post there.....I'll take a look at the clutter now.

OpenStudy (preetha):

Ok, Just checked the languages and culture group - and there are questions about several languages being posted there. Enjoy!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is just extremely upsetting. There is a group for Spanish only. Why can't French or German or any other language have its own group, instead of a joined group? Do you see my frustration?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

English and Spanish are the main 2 languages spoken in the U.S. so that's probably why there is an English section and a Spanish section

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

The Language and Culture section is for all languages, we don't have specific sections for different languages.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

theres one for english

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

Of course there would be, it's part of the core subjects whereas other languages are not 100% obligatory. And it's not all about learning English, you know. It's about reading and essays and other things related to reading and writing. Foreign languages are not considered core subjects and are placed together in the Languages and Culture.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that was just me being a smart*** sorry lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I hate it that everyone is all about the majority. What about the little people? Huh!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What about everyone else in the world that doesn't speak Spanish or English!?!?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No one understands how frustrating this is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-_- your not a nice person to say that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it would be a subject that no one would be one and no one would get answers because it would be to small and i never claim to be nice

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't speak well english thank you and gerrr still u dont get it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i get it and i know things can be frustrating we all get frustrated at times but there is a place you can ask for help with german

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not many that arent worth going too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that are not worth going too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

name one thats not google that works and i will try it but im not happy with any of the help i have gotten in German it is horrable

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so any ideas @kag

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i cant name any websites by name but later tonight if i cant sleep i will try to find one for you

thomaster (thomaster):

Is english your native language? since you said "I don't speak well english"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes it is but i spak german in my home and in public when im with family and close friends

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my lil brother's 1st language is German

thomaster (thomaster):

So you are asking for a german section, where people who speak german can help you with let's say math? Or do you need help with the german language? Ich bin ein bisschen verwirrt

OpenStudy (anonymous):

with German the language i am trying to re learn some that i have problems cuz i can read it and write it but i cant speek it well i have been speaking german for a very long time but when we tought my brother english i had to stop speaking it for a year and i have forgotten the basics and my family hasnt had time to help me cuz of the weather and stuff

OpenStudy (anonymous):

go to google and search german study websites maybe you can find something or go to a chat pod and ask people if anyone speaks German every so often

thomaster (thomaster):

Well... the difficulty here is that german users on OS could help you with the language, writing and reading, but not with speech. It's a website, to practice on speech you'd need a real person. We can't provide that here unless someone has the time to record endless amounts of audio files and post them here, and that would be time consuming.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well the little things like verbs adverbs and things like that is the only things that i cant read or write when my teacher says to do so

thomaster (thomaster):

Isn't the teacher there to help you with things like this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im homeschooled

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have to do it on my own and im am doing poorly

OpenStudy (anonymous):

see if you can find something on youtube or another video website

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

All languages welcome: http://openstudy.com/study#/groups/Language%20and%20Culture Then use chats to post a note and link. "Hey, if you can help me with German, I would really appreciate it. Here is the link:"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(I'm Sorry. Just really frustrating that everything always goes back to the majority. What about the minority? The 'Language and Culture Group' is to broad. It needs to be changed to just a 'Culture Group' and just a 'Language Group'. )

thomaster (thomaster):

Es gibt einfach zu wenig Nachfrage für eine solche Gruppe

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

You realize the two are intrinsically tied and can not be separated? It is actually impossible to teach language without teaching at least the basics of culture. I am sure you can look at German for examples of this; as in why certain grammar seems logical in one language but not in another. In fact, all college classes on language require a culture section or they are not transferable to other colleges in the USA. So how can you separate them when that is a requirement in their teaching?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@thomaster Aber verstehen Sie, was ich sage? Jeder ist zu sehr auf Mehrheit konzentriert. Niemand kümmert sich um die Minderheit. Mindestens das ist, wie es Nähte. Es ist sehr beunruhigend.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@e.mccormick You can learn Language without learning culture

thomaster (thomaster):

Selbst wenn wir eine Gruppe für Deutsche Sprache Schaffen, wäre es höchstwahrscheinlich leer sein seit es gibt nicht so viele Deutsch Leute auf OpenStudy. (excuse me for my bad german xD I live next to Germany but I don't speak it that well)

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Talk to a linguist before you set that firmly in your mind. For example, native speakers of pitch accented languages show differences in brain structure and processing when dealing with speech when contrasted with stress accented languages. This results in a completely different range of onomatopoeia. You need to understand this when learning or teaching that to non-native speakers. OpenStudy (anonymous):

Es wäre nicht nur für Deutsch. Es könnte alle ausländischen Sprachen. (its okay I speak high german but i can stll understand what u typed. it aint as bad as me mum's)

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Et tut mir leid. ;-;

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Es ist okay. Ich hasse es, in der Minderheit.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Ich bin aus berlin :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ich bin aus West Virginia,US.

OpenStudy (anonymous):
