alright, When parallel lines get crossed by another line (which is called a Transversal), you can see that many angles are the same. its a rule that vertical angles are the equal in the same way corresponding angles, alternate interior and exterior angles are equal. and we also know that sum of consective interior angles is 180 thats all by geometry laws. so to check that two lines are parallel we check all this conditions :)

thankyou soooo much :)
