A group of words that includes a subject and verb and makes sence on its own is a A) sentence B) dependent clause C) fragment D) comma splice

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

which one do you think? I would say A. It's the only one that makes sense independently.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I agree with @SolomonZelman

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

dependent clause: Ex: "since I was going there, " makes no sense on it's own. fragment Ex: "The circus clowns under the big top." also has to be going with something else, can't be like a separate statement. comma splice would also make sense on it's own, it's like 2 sentences, but I would still go with A.

Thank you ! Can you help me with this please Sentence fragments should be A) routinely used when writing B) avoided when writing C) used to express a complete thought D) combined using a semicolon

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

hmm, I actually think it's A.

Which do you guys is think I should pick ?
