okay so for 3 you would move the decimal to the right 3 so its between the 4 and 2. so it would be 4.2. Since you moved the decimal to the right to put it in scientific notation the answer would be C because you would move the decimal to the left to get the original number which would be -3 so the answer is 4.2 x 10^-3

Im not completely sure about how to do 5 and 6 but for 7 you input -2 for a and 4 for b then solve the equation. You should get 1/2 as the answer. For 8 the answer is never because you get a positive number with decimals.
