A puzzle challenge just for OpenStudiers!
Ok, so you all asked for it. You want something to streeeeeetch your brains. We have partnered with Cellucid Inc., a mobile game company to challenge you to a new kind of puzzle! Read all about the iQube challenge on the blog. And of course they have prizes for you to earn. But I want to know, who is the craftiest puzzler among my OpenStudiers! http://blog.openstudy.com/?p=3052
Just read the Blog post! Wow, looks fun! I hope this is similar to the OpenStudy video Contest! OpenStudy always gives out the BEST prizes :) I'm certainly going to take part in the puzzle challenge (the moment I figure it out!) Hmm... The best puzzle solver, you say? That'll be me, of course ;)
Of course Compassionate, of course.... (-:
im the best at everything ..... as long as it doesn't need a bain
I no haz apple product :(
that sucks and brain nor bain
not* can i even English
Cool Preetha. Is this a sponsored item? Anyhow, I don't have an iDevice. But cheers for those who enter.
Same over here @dumbsearch2 iProducts get all the attention these days ;(
This is why http://opensignal.com/reports/fragmentation-2013/ @Taylor<3sRin
I am using the HTC Evo at the moment, pretty solid phone.
Oh dang yes.
Not quite as great as the HTC One tho
I am thinking about using my upgrade towards the LG G2, still deciding though.
It runs 4.0. Thats cool.
Nah, I would get a Moto X or a Moto G.
I'll look into those, my main problem with the G2 is that is so darn big.
I have an HTC evo too lolz. but sorry compassionate, i might not such a smart kid, but when it comes to puzzles, well im just the best at them c;
not be* see what i mean lol
It's a shame this isn't available for android since the majority of phones/tablets run on android. I don't have an iDevice either, I like my HTC One way too much :D
*Brofist engage with Thomaster*
Preetha should really consider making an app for OS, it shall be legendary.
We have an app :P
For android i mean :0
Dang it, its like OS is sponsored by apple.
alot of people use apple products but yes they should cover more ground and put apps on the Google store (i haven't looked to see if they have or not as i dont have a device that uses this)
So get an iPhone. Problem solved. It is complete coincidence that my profile picture happens to be - drum roll please - an Apple!
*da dum tss*
Oh yea lemme get about 100 bucks out of the sky, just to buy an app X) cause you know, it's that easy
It's easier to create apps for iOS. That's why developers usually create apps for iPhone first to test if it will be popular. Then they create the app for the much bigger android :P
I see thank you for your fantastic explanation :) Unlike BLUES CLUES here being all sarcastic on me. SHAME.
Jk blues i love you :*
Is there going to be somewhere that i can go to see who is on the top of the leader boards for this contest? I think it would be cool for all of us to be able to see who is winning and who the underdogs are :P
hey quick question… can you do this on iPod touch?
Yes @Jamierox4ev3r EVERY iPhone app works on iPod touch... it depends tho, which operating system version do you run?
i have IOS 6…so I'm guessing it should be fine, thanks Sean :)
Yes, it definitely would. So you have a 45y gen! :)
*4th
yes i do ^_~
Why don't you guys make an app for android? It wouldn't be fair if it's only available for Apple products O.o
So where's this puzzle challenge? XD
@thomaster That is so false, iOS has a lot more UX and UI requirements for submitting their apps. Apple is very complicated, many apps have been rejected due to the fact that they don't provide a functionality that can't be done online (for example if the app is basically like a web frame). The Google Play app store is a lot less complicated. I know you were joking, but for real, Java is better for programming apps than Objective C ( the language that Apple uses). Also, they're more development kits for creating Android apps without writing a line of code, due to less regulations. Also Android accepts apps that are basically crappy sometimes. But yeah, BTW @thomaster the HTC One is a great phone. The main reason why a lot of apps start with iOS is because of fragmentation, they're so many different versions of Android that different people use, that its harder to program for, 33 percent of devices still run Android Gingerbread, 2.3, while the latest is 4.3. Many more iOS devices run later version, and they don't change as much often fundamentally. Apple boosts their consolidation in devices versions as an incentive for developers.
Where is the puzzle? All you guys are talking about is apps :0
hahahaha wow dumbsearch
@dumbsearch2 I don't know about the programming stuff but 5 of my friends work in app development and they all agreed that iOS was the easiest platform to write apps for. That's where I got the info from :P
Actually, dumbsearch is correct.
Yeah, I guess it also depends on which language you are more familiar with partly @thomaster
i guess i hv to stay out of the competition..:( nothing for the android yet..but all d best other contestants!!!:D
lol this convo left the competition :P
I have android :(
I'm sorry, this works only for iphones. Not androids.
Im glad that we all understand that now
the apps in the play store and better than apple. and plus most of them you have to pay in the apple store
that would be an opinion not a fact as there are many free things in the apple store
ive had both formats and they are to diffrent to compare accurately
Emulators... Use 'em, love 'em... I am pretty sure there are some iPad emulators out there for windows. So technically PC users can still participate.
thats true
You know what would be a challenge? Robot Odyssey, anyone remember that gem? Slate did a review of it a few weeks ago, and it brought me back to my childhood
I remember that game, I never finished it, I may check it out on the DOSBox, it was cool for an old game.
the slate article mentioned someone did a java version, so it's out there somewhere
Found it! Slate article: http://www.slate.com/articles/technology/bitwise/2014/01/robot_odyssey_the_hardest_computer_game_of_all_time.html Download: http://www.droidquest.com/ (Download > DQ2.7.zip)
You can play the puzzle on the web platform as well. Coming Feb 1.
So then all of the people with the Androids can play it on the computer too. Now you don't have to cry :'(
Im crying too :( OS needs to be more involved with android.
I agree but we need to see if it works with Apple first before we can take that step :D I don't really have to worry though because i don't have either :P
Nope, @Opcode I've examined that possibility: there are no emulators that run the full app store. Including the XCode emulator.
http://iqube.cellucid.com/play.html Thats the online URL for those who don't have iOS devices.
i can barely do the moderates!
lol same here XD
I did completed the warm up level X) what do i do now?
oh nevermind .-.
Thanks @dumbsearch for the link
